Dear Congregation Or Chadash Members,

We hope that you enjoyed your summer.

Now is the time for all of us in the Congregation to step forward and help out Sisterhood. Please join us this year.

We at Sisterhood have many programs for you to attend. We had 116 women participate in our "Women's Only Seder" which was held before Passover. This is a program that many of you asked us to have again. We listened and we do have a Seder for Women scheduled for next Spring.

We donated $3,000 to the Congregation's Capital Campaign this past year. These funds are a result of Sisterhood dues and proceeds from our Gift Shop, which is located right next to the office.

The Davis School, located at Paradise Falls & Ft. Lowell, is one of our many projects. Items that we distribute to them are toothbrushes, sanitizers, pencils and other school supplies.

Remember, we need baked goods for our Jewish Food Festival being held November 7th, 2010. Emails will be sent shortly with the details of this appeal.

Volunteers are needed for our many programs, especially working in the Gift Shop.

WE NEED YOU.

Please consider paying $36.00 to be part of our Sisterhood. If you have already paid your dues, we thank you very much.

l'Shalom,

SISTERHOOD NEWS
MAZELGRAMS ARE HERE!

The Or Chadash Sisterhood is undertaking a new project called Mazelgrams and we hope you help us make this a fun and beneficial program.

   What is a Mazelgram?
A Mazelgram is a birthday, anniversary or Bar or Bat Mitzvah greeting that you will be able to send to your friends and fellow congregants.

   How does it work?
Two calendars will be emailed to you each month. The calendars will also be available on the synagogue website, in the office and at Friday night services. The calendars are filled with the names of members who are celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and Bar or Bat Mitzvot.

Where do I send my greeting and how much is it?
To send your greeting, circle the occasions you would like to acknowledge. Sign your name on the calendar and mail the calendar with a check for $1 for each occasion you are acknowledging to:
         Roberta Greene
         2612 N. Vuelta Vista Antigua
         Tucson, AZ 85715

The check should be made payable to “Or Chadash Sisterhood.” It is important to remember to include your check because there is no billing involved with this program.

   When is it due?
The deadline for each month is the 23rd of the previous month. If you have any questions, please call Roberta at 886-6636. She will be glad to explain the details.

SISTERHOOD GIFT SHOP

Sisterhood would like to thank all of the congregants who bought items in the Gift Shop during the month of December. They also enjoyed a 20 percent discount from December 6th through the end of December.

Special thanks to Barbara Champion who did a fantastic job helping out in the Gift Shop. She knew just what to do. She is a gem.

   Rochelle Roth,
    Gift Shop Manager
