Rabbi Louchheim, Carly Levy, Yoram Levy, Nathan Levy, and Gabrielle Levy with the new Torah scroll dressed in the mantle donated by the 2007 Or Chadash Confirmation class. The scroll was written by sofer Rabbi Shmuel Miller of Los Angeles. Following the 100 Menorah Dinner, over 400 congregants and friends packed the JCC auditorium to celebrate Shabbat with Friday Night LIVE !, the new Torah dedication and Chanukah, lighting family chanukiot set up on the table.

The 2007 Confirmation class donated an mantle for the Congregation’s new Torah scroll. The mantle was made in Israel. Students and their families presented the mantle in December 2007 in the synagogue chapel on Alvernon Way.
